I bought some new RAM, installed it into my motherboard, and I was then able to successfully download Fortnite, as well as GTA V which I previously couldn't (due to "corrupt update files"). This was causing the Epic Launcher to download corrupt files, and then it would check what was downloaded, see it was corrupted, and retry endlessly, eventually giving up and displaying "queued".

I downloaded a free memory checking program and ran it, and found out my RAM was corrupt and wasn't downloading any large files correctly. Turns out at least one of my sticks of RAM was corrupt.
